It is the old neoclassical parish church, a reconstruction of an older Romanesque temple.
In 1622, a flood of the Adige led the then parish priest of Belfiore, Father Antonio Martini, in agreement with the faithful, to move the parish seat from the church of Madonna della Strà to this place of worship.
On May 6, 1811, the Belfiore faithful began the reconstruction of their parish church. The work lasted eleven months, and on April 12, 1812, the Bishop of Verona Innocenzo Maria Liruti inaugurated and consecrated the place of worship.
On June 9, 1940, Father Luigi Bosio, now venerable, was appointed the new parish priest of Belfiore. His decision to build a new large parish church, because he considered the church of Saints Vito, Modesto, and Crescenzia too small to hold the faithful and inadequate for the liturgy, led to the abandonment of the place of worship from 1947.
Inside, there were two paintings by Farinati: one was taken to the new parish church, the other to the church of Castelcerino. The side altars were moved to the Sanctuary of Madonna della Strà, while the altar frontal of the main altar remained in place.
In 1996, the restoration of the bell tower, the only one with a clock in the municipality of Belfiore, was carried out by the Superintendency.
