Villa Carlotti

The building was constructed in the 16th century and features a façade facing south with three orders of windows on three levels. The ground-floor windows are in the 16th-century style and belong to the original structure, as does the entrance portal framed by a characteristic rustication.

When the Carlotti family acquired the property from the Cavalli family in the early 18th century, they expanded and completed the building, adding two wings on the sides, and another, equipped with a small dovecote, was erected to close off the courtyard.

In the central part, a loggia was built with two orders of porticoes, the ground-level openings divided by pillars with smooth rustication, and an architrave that echoes the design of the portal; while on the noble floor, two central columns and two square-section pilasters support three arches. Above the loggia is a sinuous molding with a statue representing "Jupiter with an eagle," at whose feet is displayed the coat of arms of the Carlotti marquises. The statue of this deity, attributed to Francesco Filippini, is likely the only surviving piece of a larger cycle of statues depicting Greek gods. At the center of the frieze, in a marble cartouche, is engraved the date 1704, marking the completion of this element of the building.

The interior of the villa has the typical layout of a Venetian house, with a central hall from which the lateral rooms open. On the walls, 18th-century stuccos once framed frescoes that are no longer present.
